For bronze and steel bearing blocks lubrication is needed to minimize friction and prevent parts from wearing out. You need to check and add lubrication regularly. Plastic bearing blocks, on the other hand, does not require lubrication, but these ones may need to be changed maximum times since it can’t withstand as much weight as the others.
